Always Blue is where the sound of The New Standard was created. Originally recorded at The Village Recording Studio in February 2021, I had to switch studio due to logistical reasons. I am so happy that it brought me to Millfactory and met Boe Larsen, which is truly a great engineer. The song itself was written along with Jakob Park, who understood my vision from the start. I am very grateful for his contribution, and honestly the song wouldn't have been as good without him. But the final magic happened, when Miles send me the mastered version from London. Peter and I who heard it first was totally overwhelmed. The final sound was just out of this world. I fully recognize everybody's strong contribution, but the last touches from Abbey Road took it to a different league, shaped the sound of the songs to follow, and literally set a new standard.

Song Lyrics

Written by Thomas Lyngdam

You and me
Were meant to be
Careless like an atlantic sea
Drifting away – should be near to me
Just like a wave
My dark dissolving mystery

Couldn’t see
All you meant to me
Step by step
You danced away
No pirouette
Could make you stay
Dance of the night
Blinded by the sunlight

CHORUS

A little blue
I’m still longing for you
Always blue
What can I do
When a life that’s without you
Is a life that’s without love
Without you
Without love
Without life

Left one day
Just went away
Sleepless night and out of sight
Love that’s like a fading light
Lost in a dream
Darkness all surrounds me

Within this song
All is said and done
Not to lose this special time
Forever yours and forever mine
To hold you again
Fullfill my sweet desire

CHORUS

About the song

This is a song about real love. Something very profound that was lost, but which could never let go of the mind. The first lines of this song I actually wrote in Portuguese.
